Large Cavern
The river comes to an end here in this large cavern, which must be
three hundred feet in diameter. The water occupies about half of the
cavern's total area, with the only visible shore line being a small ledge
to the south. There is an indentation in the water at the center of the
cavern here, with water slowly spinning around it in a gentle whirlpool,
indicating that the river probably empties through a hole at the bottom
of the cavern.

An Underground River
The river widens a bit here bulging out to about thirty feet in size,
slowing the river's current even further. The river flows into a large
cavern to the east, and narrows a bit to the west. A single, huge
stalagmite rises out of the river almost the to caverns ceiling here,
with its upper most peak covered in glowing purple fungus.

An Underground River
The river's current is less turbulent in this side branch, becoming
both wider and calmer to the east. Several large stalagmites rise up
above the water level here, causing dozens of tiny whirlpools as the
river flows slowly by. The purple illuminating fungus has also returned
in this section of the cavern, clinging to the walls and ceiling high
above.

The river makes an abrupt split here, with a huge stalagmite bending
the river from its southerly course downstream to the east and west.
The splits are much thinner than the source to the north, but the caverns
seem a bit more roomy with eight to ten feet of head clearance in each.
There is none of the glowing fungus here at all.

Tunnel on the Wide Underground River
The great river flows into a large tunnel here at the caverns
southern end. The water line is very high here, leaving only three or four
feet of head clearance from the ceiling. There isn't much of the glowing
fungus in this tunnel, but enough to provide a very dim illumination.
The river continues its slow north to south course.

On the Wide Underground River
The river flows slowly down this immense cavern from north to south,
with a village of some kind off the east. There is a small stone hut on
the eastern bank of the river. To the west there is a large green
pool just off the river's bank. The entire cavern is illuminated by
glowing purple fungus from high above. To the south the river flows
through a tunnel at the caverns end.
