The Docks of Quietus Quay
This is one of the shallowest regions of the harbor in which one can
actually dock a ship. Larger ships need to be docked somewhat further to
the south. The stone docks are sturdy and well-made, apparently carved
from the walls of the mountain that encloses this small harbor. Sailors,
dockhands and some Darvanu mercenaries march back and forth along the dock
going about their duties.

The Docks of Quietus Quay
A stone door to the east leads into a small building built along the
docks. The dock itself continues to the west along the wall of a massive
warehouse, and south along the eastern edge of the protected harbor. A
number of workers can be seen roaming the docks, along with a few Darvanu
mercenaries who seem to be keeping a fairly careful eye on everyone.

The Docks of Quietus Quay
The stone of the docks has been warn smooth by the passage of many
feet, as well as the loading and movement of cargo. Once known only for
the pirates that docked here, this port has become a nearly legitimate
place of business. The Darvanu mercenary house now runs this port and
allows all ships to dock here for loading and unloading, providing they
pay the proper fees. Water from the ocean laps up against the docks which
run to the east and west.

all been carved directly out of the stone of the mountain that encloses
this small harbor. The ocean here is calm, protected from the wind and

A high, rocky ceiling encloses this small harbor. Quietus Quay began
as a secret pirate's port, but since its take-over by the Darvanu
mercenary house it has grown considerably, taking legal as well as illegal
shipments and goods. A set of double doors to the north leads into a
gigantic stone warehouse that has been carved from the side of the
mountain and the stone walkway of the dock continues to the east and west.

This small ocean inlet burrowed itself beneath the mountains many years
ago and has created a perfect, hidden harbor for the docking and unloading
of ships. Once a pirate's haven, the port has been taken over by the
Darvanu mercenary house, one of the most powerful organizations in the
world. Ships carrying both legal and illegal goods now land here whenever
they please. While in port the ships are safe from attack, once they
leave they are on their own. The stone walkways of the docks continue to
the east and west.

past a massive warehouse that has been carved from the mountain and
appears to enter a wide cavern. The docks have been carved from the rock
that surrounds a natural ocean inlet that has formed beneath the mountain.

The famous stone docks of Quietus Quay lie just to the south. The
take-over of this small port by the Darvanu has led to much heavier use,
even by legitimate businesses. The path here is wide enough to almost be
considered a roadway leading through the mountain. It is wide enough for
large, heavy wagons to be drawn through.

A Small Square
Smooth stone floors here are coated with some sort of thin green lichen
that has a faint luminescence to it. A small fountain has been placed
here in the square, the splashing water seems to be what supports the
growth of the lichen. A small, nameless road winds off to the east
through the cavern and the main road through the cavern to the port lies
to the west.

A Nameless Path
This nameless path passes through Quietus Quay winding through small
stone buildings and open-roofed shacks. Many of the buildings look far
sturdier than they should need to be when protected from the elements by
the surrounding cavern. A small shack lies to the north and an open door
leads into a sturdy stone building to the south.

Quietus Quay is a heavily used port, but has few permanent residents other
than those that work the docks or provide supplies to those that travel
through. A sturdy stone building stands to the north and the collapsed
ruins of a small stone building lie to the east. The path itself
continues to the west and winds to the south.

The Collapsed Ruins of a Stone Building
A poorly built stone building once stood here, but its lack of decent
construction has allowed it to fall to the ground leaving nothing but
rubble and debris. The rocks it was made from don't appear to have come
from the caverns, or even the mountains nearby. Anyone spending the
effort to bring stone in from elsewhere only to build a shoddy home must
have been foolish indeed.

A Nameless Path
The cavern floor here must have started out relatively flat and stable,
and years of wear and tear have worn it smooth. The path itself is made
of a light brown dirt that has worn away from the stone and seeped or
blown into the cavern from outside. The path appears to split just to
the south where it moves through a collection of stone and wooden
buildings.

A Split in the Path
The small port town of Quietus Quay must not be deemed large enough to
require signs or markers for the paths that wind through it. Only the
dock hands and mercenary guards actually seem to live here, though a fair
number of merchants can often be seen wandering the streets. Since the
Darvanu mercenary house took over the town it has grown considerably, the
thriving commerce attracting wanted as well as un-wanted attention. A
long stone building stands to the west and the path forks off to the
north, south, and east.

The stony path is covered with a thin layer of gravel and dirt as it
winds its way southward deeper into the cavern. Sounds of dripping water
mingle with the echos of voices bouncing off the distant walls of the
cavern. The path continues to the north where it forks in several
directions and to the south where it turns east.

A Nameless Path
The twisting, turning paths in Quietus Quay bear no markers or names,
it would seem that anyone traveling here must have some sort of idea of
where they are going. It is not as if the port village is large enough to
get lost in, but it does seem to have its darker and more ominous paths.

A Nameless Path
The path is fairly wide here as it passes between the bases of two
large stalagmites. The tops of the stalagmites themselves were broken off
long ago to reduce the number of hiding places for the cavern creatures
that used to make this place their home. The path continues to the east
and west where it passes by a few buildings on its meandering way through
the cavern that encloses Quietus Quay.

A Nameless Path
A squat stone building to the north has a simple sign over the doorway
that says 'Potions'. The collapsed remains of a stone building stand
tohe south and the winding path continues to the east and west. Sounds of
dripping water echo through the cavern along with an occasional shout or
scream.

A Nameless Path
Squat stone buildings stand to the north and south. Both buildings
have been made of the same rough-hewn stone that appears to come from
someplace within the cavern. Heavy wooden doors have been placed into the
entryway of each, but the doors do not appear to have any locks. The
winding path continues to the east and west winding past large boulders
and old stalagmites as it meanders through the cavern.

A Nameless Path
The sound of dripping water bounces its way through the cavern. Sound
carries differently in caverns such as this, the dripping water could be
mere feet away, or as far as the furthest part of the cavern. Strangely,
the constant plop of the dripping water sounds crystal clear here. A
solid building made of marble stands to the south and a large open area is
just to the north. The nameless path through the cavern continues to the
east and west.

A Nameless Path
A stately wood-frame home stands to the east and a large boulder blocks
the way to the north. A winding path bends its way to the south and west
as it continues its meandering way past the buildings that have been built
here within the cavern. Voices and sounds that echo throughout the cavern
seem particularily loud here, but this part of Quietus Quay seems quite
quiet and safe.

A Small Clearing
A small pool of water has formed in the center of this small, rocky
clearing. It would appear that the space was originally cleared to make
space for a building that has never been constructed. The softer dirt
in the area shows a few small tracks that likely belong to some of the
cave lizards that roam the cavern. A small path of some sort lies to the
south.

The Home of Quietus
Fine silk draperies hand down the marble walls, adding color and
elegance to the large room while also adding a distinct sign of wealth. A
heavy marble door leads back out of the building to the north and
additional rooms can be seen to the southeast and southwest. Several
large sofas and plush chairs have been set around the room, all facing
toward a low table that stands in the center. The room is both functional
and elegant, its decorations showing a great deal of wealth and power
without being gaudy.
