Troll
=========================================
Swamp Trolls are a large, massive, evil, and disgusting species that
are greatly feared by all races. They are often hunted by humans, and are
easily identifiable by their decided lack of intelligence, green hair, and
pale-green, horned and slimy skin. Troll's strength is horrifying and, since
they are destructive by nature, they customarily spend all of their time
killing and destroying. Trolls also frequently raid towns in order to
procure slaves that become the "guests of honor" at future feasts. Trolls
live in hot swamps and lakes, and generally band together in clans. Their
only contact with other races occurs during acts of war. Trolls regenerate
faster than other races do, and possess innate ultravision.

* Trolls have melee damage reduction, meaning that while fighting same
enemies as troll you will receive less damage, as opposing to other races.

==Weakness==
Rumor has it that trollskin makes for a quality torch. This innate
vulnerability causes them to take more than normal damage from
fire-based spells.

Thief
=========================================
Thieves are masters of stealth, deceit, concealment, and they might 
relieve you of your valuables if you don"t watch your purse. If backed into 
a corner, thieves can be deadly enemies and are more than capable of fighting 
their way out of tight spots. The dreaded thief is also renowned for its 
ability to pick locks, alter their identity, to vanish into the shadows, not 
to mention hunting their prey to the ends of the world to get what they want.

Thieves have only learned 1h slashing skill for short swords.  They will
not use any other 1h slashing weapons effectively.

Thieves are held fully to the rules listed in Help Raid for equipment 
guidelines, and while engaged in pstealing or pkilling they are considered 
"primary" characters and as such must wear the best equipment available up to 
and including removing equipment from their other characters to meet these 
guidelines. This DOES include artifacts, uniques, and iouns, *unless* they 
are not usable by a thief.  

ALL items stolen by a thief must be worn by the thief *unless* they cannot 
use the object or are currently wearing better in that slot, in which case 
it may be stored or given away.

Trying to get by these rules will be met with harsh consequences. If you are 
unsure about what is legal or not, ask a god.

Thieves are Duris' undisputed masters of stealth, and are not subject to 
the typical slow sneak that other rogue subclasses suffer from. At the more
advanced levels, they can even make themselves invisible on the map while 
sneaking. Advanced thieves can also step into and out of hiding at will, 
without waiting.

Racewars
=========================================
Duris consists of a delicately balanced world in which the Good and Evil races battle 
one another in the endless pursuit of equipment, frags and more importantly, bragging 
rights. To make this possible, player killing (PK) is fully tolerated and is encouraged. 
Players must be familiar with the rules of Duris. 

In addition, there are neutral races. These races are available to both racewars,  and
players are given the option of selecting which racewar they want to be aligned with. 

When a player from either racewar kills the player of another racewar, the player is 
rewarded with frags and also the opportunity of gaining equipment from the corpse of the 
deceased. The risk, however, is that if you are the one who is killed, you will LOOSE 
frags and the equipment on your corpse is now available for looting.

IMPORTANT: The Evil races of Duris are designed to be more difficult to play and 
face additional hardships that may be overwhelming for players who are new to the game of
Duris. This includes, but is not limited to, reduced vision on surface, double or more
experience penalty, hometowns and maps filled with aggressive mobs and a lack of protection 
by hometown mobs. 

This is a VERY brief description of how race wars work on Duris.  The more intricate 
details will be revealed as they unfold.  For a detailed list of which races are available to which
sides, look in the help under Races.

Illusionists are the magical masters of the unreal and the
shadow. They are capable of illusions so powerful no one 
can help but believe they are real. They are also masters
of deception and many have foolishly let them into their
ranks, to their doom. Illusionist tend to be highly
intelligent and use this to their advantage.

==Equipment usage==
Like all classes on Duris, Illusionists have their own 
specific item restrictions.  They have a very small range
of weapons they can use and a small range of armor to
choose from. They have very little restrictions on what
miscellaneous magical items they can use, though.     

The illusionist specialization teachers can be found in Ashrumite
or Moregeeth.
