An Intersection With a Stone Path
   A stone walkway heads off toward the south, passing along the larger homes
of the more important and wealthy yuan-ti.  Serpentine forms of several true-
blood yuan-ti can be seen along the path to the south, and there seem to be
more guards in this area of the town.  The wall to the north shows much more
careful construction than at any other spot surrounding the village.  Oddly
enough there are a number of serpentine trails and footprints that seem to
disappear right into the wall.  The dirt path continues around the village to
the east and west and a path paved with stones heads south.

A Stone Path
   The path ends to the north at a dirt path that surrounds the village, and
the stones that pave it end there as well.  The path does head further south
however, where it winds past several of the larger homes of the wealthy yuan-
ti.  An open doorway leads into a small house built of heavy, rough-hewn logs
to the east.

   Winding its way through the wealthiest homes in the village, this path acts
more as a vain attempt at civilization than a truely organized walkway.  Though
it is paved with large stones, the different colored stones are rough and of a
variety of sizes.  Gaps in the path show that it is poorly kept, and its widely
varying sizes at different points shows that no real planning went into its
design or building.  The stone path continues to the north and veers to the
southeast between two large buildings.  A two-story frame house stands to the
south.

A Solidly Built Home
   It may not be the largest building in the village, but this home is
certainly the sturdiest and most well-built.  Heavy timbers have been sunk deep
into the ground providing support along the walls and even in the center of the
room.  A raised wooden floor adds another touch not seen in many other homes
here.  The wood used here is treated timber, not the rough logs, or sawed
timbers used elsewhere in the village.  There is no furniture in this room
however, visitors and the owner must simply sit or lie on the floor.  A curving
stairway to the south leads up to the second floor.

A Plain Wooden Bedroom
   A bed of sorts stands in the middle of the room, but there is no other
furniture.  The bed itself is quite odd, it has the posts, headboard, and
footboard that one would expect, but there is no mattress.  A large, wide
wooden board acts as a mattress, or has at least been placed in that spot.
There are no pillows or other adornments for the bed.  A chest of heavy timber
stands against the western wall and a stairway spirals down from the southern
part of the room.

buildings.  An open entryway to the north leads into a long building that
stretches to the east.  The northern building looks almost large enough to
house the entire village if it was needed to.  A two-story building stands to
the west, but its entrance must be on another side of the home.  The stone path
continues to the northwest and to the south.

men to lift.  Gaps in the walls show that the construction wasn't as careful
and cautious as it should be.  Bits of clay used to plug the cracks has dried
just enough to shrink and fall away.  The floor is also of rough logs that have
been sliced in half and set down with the flat surface up.  There is no
furniture here at all, the only decorations are two large silk tapestries that
hang on the northern and southern wall.  An open doorway leads back out to a
stone path to the west.

the east and west and a path paved with stones heads south.

A Muddy Path
   The muddy path begins to rise a bit higher and get a bit drier as it winds
to the northwest.  It is odd how large a difference a few inches can make in
the swampy jungle.  A few inches can mean the difference between wet feet and
dry, and make a huge difference in what sort of buildings can be constructed.
The muddy path dries a bit as it rises upward to the northwest and continues
its moist passage to the east.
