The Clan Crane building, like the rest of the Clan houses along the
Path of Flowers, is laid out like a large square. The middle of the
square contains a lovely garden area, which is surrounded by the rest
of the building. From this position, one can either continue to the south
and enter the garden, or use one of the two sliding panel doors to the west
or east to enter the house. The garden is roughly fifty feet per side,
while the house is another fifty feet surrounding that. The structure
is only a single-story in height except for the central section of the
southern part of the house, where it extends up another floor.

A Large Garden Area
Set inside the interior of the Clan Crane house struture, this garden
is a peaceful island away from the rest of the city. Small sections of
flowers have been carefully planted and cultivated, and numerous tiny shrubs
dot the green grass. One large white birch tree climbs up into the sky, it's
branches and leaves providing shade to a solitary wooden bench that sits
near the middle of the garden. A patio, about five feet in width, runs
along the inside walls of the surrounding building and the roofline of the
structure overhangs that porch area, also providing shade and comfort.

royalty. The four-post bed is large, made of a thick fluffy mattress
and numerous light covers and sheets. Pillows made of satin and goose
feathers sit near the head of the bed, each of them in shades of green
that accent the lovely green fabrics of the bed coverings. A four-drawer
dresser has been placed along the north wall, on the right side of the
sliding wood panelled door. A similar door can be seen in the west wall.
A window in the east wall provides both illumination and a cooling
breeze if the wind outside is blowing in the right direction. From that
window, one can see the Clan Tiger compound area that sits next to
this one.

This room serves as a library or study for the Clan. The room is laid
out simply, with four chairs spaced around the middle of the room
surrounded by eight shelves of books and scrolls, two per wall. The shelves
on the south and west walls are slightly small in length, because of the
sliding wood panelled doors that allow access to this room. When opened
the doors cleverly slide behind a shelf, out of sight. Windows in the north
and east walls are currently open to the outside environment, but each has
a set of folding blinds that can be used to cut off the noise and weather
of the outside world.

made of a hard, deep brown wood. There are eight chairs around the
rectangular table, each of the same material as the table. Illumination
is provided by a number of candles spaced around the walls, each held
by a highly decorated piece made of gold. Entry to this room is controlled
by doors to the east and south, both made of a light, thin wood panel
attached to a heavier wood frame that slides easily from side-to-side,
instead of swinging open on hinges. Around the room are various framed
watercolor paintings, mostly of birds in flight in peaceful natural settings.

movable walls made of thick white paper held by the same style of bamboo
frames. Some of the paper walls have been decorated by some aspiring
artist using a brush and black ink. Sliding wood panelled doors allow
