Climbing a Rocky Plateau
   The road is angled slightly and twists and turns its way through a series
of valleys and peaks. Mounted on the stone walls that border the road are
large glass lanterns. The reddish-orange flame burning within the lanterns
cast a bright light across the road. A single large thundercloud lingers
overhead. The cloud casting a deep shadow across the area and if not for the
light provided by the lanterns, it would be difficult to walk through the
area as small boulders jut up from the roadway providing obstacles that
must be navigated. One realizes that it would be difficult to bring a cart
and wagon through this pass. The roadway makes a light turn to the east
at this point but appears to level off.

High in the Storm Cloud Peaks
   Although a majority of the valley of Stragthor rests toward the southeast,
this area is claimed by the high council of storm giants. Thier grand mansions
lie just to the north overlooking a large grassy plateau that lies in the
midst of the snow covered peaks. The road leading toward the high councils
mansion are scattered with numerous boulders that jut from the ground like
small fingers. The boulders designed as a guard should any of the great war
machines breach the main walls and attempt to lay seige to this section of
Stragthor. A heavy, dark cloud, lingers just overhead. The fierce wind that
blows through the valley can be screaming with a high pitched wail as it
roams over and under the crevices along the road.

   Small boulders jut from the road to block any carts or wheeled war machines
that should happen to breach the main walls of the valley. Along the side of
the road are piles of hardened snow. The snow having been pushed to make the
roadway clear for any travelers heading toward the high councils mansions. As
one looks out from where they now stand, barely visible over the snow drifts
is a clear view of Strgthor, valley of the snow giants. The valley appears to
have been excavated from the peaks of large mountains. Large stone bridges
with high arches can be seen linking one mountain peak to the next. A large
storm cloud swirls overhead. Ever so often a bright flash of lightning flashes
across the sky followed quickly by a thunderous grumble.

   This stone bridge, arched high into the air, provides the only link to the

Before the Chamber of the High Council
   Carved into the side of the mountain is a large mansion. Tall spires of
twisting granite columns rise up from the ground to flank a large granite
door. The columns intricately engraved to resemble tall trees. The branches
twisting around the columns before spreading out to form an arch overhead.
Large stone flowers hang from the granite vines, the small roots on the
surface of the leaves clearly visible as whomever the craftsman was took
great care in his artistry. The building appears to be at least two stories
high and is comprised of blocked granite. The high council which only meets in
times of war, indicate that Stragthor, the valley of the storm giants is
preparing its citizens for the battles to come.

A Twist in the Rocky Road
   The rocky road twists at this point taking both a westerly and southern
route. To the south one notices that the road is littered with small obilisks
that just up from the center and edges of the road. The rocky mounds appear to
be some sort of barricade erected by the storm giants as a defensive
precaution. To the west the road approaches what appears to be a large stone
dwelling. The dwelling appears to stand by itself with no other structures
nearby. A high arched stone bridge immediately to the west appears to provide
the only link from this section of the mountain to the next.

A Rocky Path Through the Mountains
   The rocky road twists its way toward a large grassy plataeu. The slight
angle in which the road is built makes it so that as one travels to the north
they appear to be walking down the side of the mountain. The road to the south
takes one back toward the main valley of Stragthor. Gazing about the
surroundings one notices that a hufe mansion crafted of stone lies on the
upper cliff to the west. The large estate most likely that of King Straag
himself who often likes to gaze out onto the grassy plateau to watch his sheep
and goats graze. A thunderous cloud lingers overhead casting a dark shadow
along the road. If not for the torches that run along the roads edge, the
entire path would be obscurred in darkness.

Standing Amidst a Large Grassy Plateau
   The ground is covered with a soft grass that stands about knee high. Large
grey boulders are spread out in random formations. A few of the boulders lie
stacked atop one another providing a makeshift shelter for the animals that
roam about grazing. The entire plateau holds the primary food source for the
valley of Stragthor. The sheep and goats grazing on the land are of the
species found in the realm of Jotunheim. A few small trees dot the landscape.
Their small branches barely reaching out above the height of the grass.

A Grassy Area Amidst the Mountains
   Set high atop a plateau lies this flat land covered with thick grass. As
one peers about it is an almost surreal vision. Here lies a fertile land
covered with thick grass and trees amidst the snow covered peaks in the valley
of Stragthor. Small outcropping of trees and brush litter the landscape, their
full blooms adding a slight color of brown to the otherwise green landscape. A
fierce wind howls overhead, cast as a thundering cloud swirls about the
valley. Along the ground are tracks left by heavy animals. The hooved marks
clearly indicating the trails that the animals take.

   The grassy plateau ends at this point as the land suddenly drops off into
a large cliff. As one stands near the edge an arctic wind blows as though
attempting to push one over the side and into the rocky ravine below. Small
shrubs sprout from the ground at the cliffs edge. The shrubs forming a
makeshift wall and if one were careless they could easily step over the
vegetation and fall to their deaths. The animal tracks that litter the ground
are sparse in this area as the animals instincts have them avoid going to
close to the cliffs edge. Overhead a large thundercloud looms casting a dark
and gloomy shadow across the valley. Bolts of lightning strike down at
random intervals striking some object within the main section of the valley.

Walking Through a Grassy Field
   A surreal peace overcomes one as they walk amidst this grassy plateau.
Blowing from the surrounding mountains is an arctic chilled wind. The wind
having collected a chilled moisture as it spread across the snow covered
peaks that surround the grassy plateau like a set of city gates. To the west,
sitting atop a rocky ridge is a large stone fortress. The back half of the
fortress hangs over the edge of the cliff and it would appear that should an
earthquake strike, the fortress would come tumbling down into the ravine
below. Small trees and shrubery dot the landscape. Hooved animal tracks still
visible within the grass indicate that wild animals move about feeding on the
vegetation that grows from the rich soil.

sound echoes through the valley every minute or so. As yet no rain has fallen,
but judging from the number of lightning strikes, one would assume that a
downpour is minutes away.

cliff. The shrubs have small thorny branches that are thick enough to pentrate
the tough wool of the grazing sheep. The thorn bushes serving as a natural
fence protecting King Straags sheep. As one peers over the edge they notice
that a silvery mist about a hundred feet down obscures vision to the valley
surrounding Stragthor. Jutting up from the mist are the peeks of a set of
smaller mountain ranges. Gazing about the field in which one now stands they
notice that the surrounding valley rises up and that the field is actually a
large flat plateau.

Standing At the Edge of a Rocky Cliff
   The grassy plateau ends at this point as the land suddenly drops off into
a large cliff. As one stands near the edge an arctic wind blows as though
attempting to push one over the side and into the rocky ravine below. Small
shrubs sprout from the ground at the cliffs edge. The shrubs forming a
makeshift wall and if one were careless they could easily step over the
vegetation and fall to their deaths. The animal tracks that litter the ground
are sparse in this area as the animals instincts have them avoid going to
close to the cliffs edge. Overhead a large thundercloud looms casting a dark
and gloomy shadow across the valley. Bolts of lightning strike down at
random intervals striking some object within the main section of the valley.
