Petalrich Lane
   Beautiful flowers line the road here before the huge building to the north
that houses the meetings of the Woodseer High Council to the north and chief
councilor Eruffu's home to the south.  The meeting hall to the north is a truly
immense building by halfling standards, most meeting rooms of such size are
made in large burrows to save on time and money.  Petalrich Lane ends at a
four-way intersection to the west and continues west toward the Woodseer gates.
The door to a large home is to the south and an open doorway leads into the
Woodseer High Council meeting hall.

A Four-Way Intersection
   Halfling merchants and tradesman hawk their wares along the major commercial
road in Woodseer, Petalrich Lane, which heads to the east past a pair of huge
jodani trees toward the Woodseer Gate.  River Circle travels beside some
cottages built along the river to the east and Fernwalk Lane heads north toward
a stone stairway that goes higher into the mountains and south toward another
intersection.

Fernwalk Lane
   A tremendous boulder to the west blocks all view of the river beyond it and
the side of a huge building is to the east.  Heavy traffic and loud voices can
be heard from the southeast and the gentle sound of a waterfall can be heard
from somewhere beyond the boulder to the west.  Fernwalk Lane continues north
toward a long stairway that leads higher into the mountains and south toward a
four-way intersection.

Fernwalk Lane
   Tall thick ferns line the road as it heads north toward a long stairway and
as it continues south past a large boulder.  The side of a huge building blocks
all view of the east but a small pond and waterfall can be seen beyond the
small cottage to the west.  The cottage itself is made of beautiful lacewood.
Lacy veins in the light colored wood reflect the light and sparkling rainbows
from the waterfall further to the northwest making the home seem to glimmer.
An open doorway leads into the small cottage to the west and the road continues
to the north and south.

Before a Long Stairway
   Pleasant ferns and flowers have been planted here at the base of a  long
stairway leading up to another small plateau.  Water spills over the edge of
the plateau above and falls into a small pool over to the west.  Large rocks
and prevent any travel toward the pool to the west and part of the cliff face
is to the east.  Fernwalk Lane continues to the south and the stairway leads
upward toward a small building built on the face of the cliff and beyond.

On a Long Stairway
   Halflings seem able to bounce down this stairway with no fear of tumbling
over the edge.  There are no guardrails of any sort here, a fall over the edge
would end with a gruesome landing on the rough rocks below.  The beautiful
plateau below is framed by a river that runs along the base of the mountains
and cliffs at its western and southern edges.  Lose rocks and boulders make up
a wide wall that encloses a large park below and to the east which is full of
so many bright flowers that the vibrant colors can be seen from here.  The
stairway continues upward toward a building that has been built into the side
of the cliff and downward toward the plateau.

In Front of Ctenmir's
   A beautiful jodani wood building juts out of the cliff face here, heavy
black palm struts keep it from tumbling to the plateau below.  A sign over the
doorway says, "Ctenmir's Fine Goods" in several different languages.  It
appears half of the building must actually be built into the face of the
mountain, probably a natural opening or ledge of some sort.  Though it hangs
out into open space, fine construction and good design make the building quite
safe.  A narrow stairway leads further up toward a higher plateau and heads
downward toward the commercial part of Woodseer.

   Half of this well-adorned building has been built into the face of the
mountain, the other half hangs out into the air above the plateau below.
Ctenmir has made a fine reputation for himself by carving a niche for himself
in the fine goods market.  Buzzle and Clora have locked up most of the market
for lesser goods so Ctenmir deals in only the finest supplies.  Exotic perfumes
and fine wines are for sale as well as embroidered shirts and other clothing.
There are many rumors that Ctenmir's shop is simply a front for a massive
thieving operation, but the shop does do a thriving business and some of the
wealthier clients simply scoff at the idea.  A wide window in the southern wall
reveals much of Woodseer to the viewers eye.  A watery frame formed by a river
flowing around the edges of the plateau sparkles as it reflects light.

concealed, of course, by Ctenmir's shop to the south.  Though this chamber
obviously sees a great deal of use, it is plain, dark, and undecorated.  Oddly
enough, there appears to be a second shop through a narrow doorway to the east.

   Luc, one of Ctenmir's closest friends runs a small market for stolen goods
here.  Not only will Luc buy just about anything, but he also sells somewhat
questionable items such as lock picks, stilettos, thin shivs and other small
daggers.  Luc has a lengthy log of all the items he has bought and sold, with
the small question of who they were bought from or sold to conveniently left
out.  All of the goods that have been bought are ready to be sold, though at a
somewhat stiff price.  It might be dangerous to buy anything to recognizable
here though, it would be inconvenient to be accused of being a thief.  Luc's
loyalty to Ctenmir is unquestionable, it is said that Ctenmir once saved Luc's
life and that they have been close friends ever since.  An open doorway leads
into a small dark chamber to the west.

only to be a juncture between whatever rooms lie north and west and the

lit, but the darkness of the hallway somehow prevents the light from coming
very far.

A Meeting Hall
   Cocabola wood has been used to panel all of the walls of this large room.
Unlike ebonwood, cocabola is a dark wood with beautiful thin white veins which
help make the room look a little larger than it really is, and is perfect for
hiding secret doors or compartments.  A long ebonwood table and a number of
chairs occupy the center of the room which is lit by a crystal chandelier.
This is where Ctenmir meets with his loyal underlings to plan his heists.
Ctenmir's arms stretch quite far, he has carried off spectacular robberies in a
number of different towns but he has been very careful in Woodseer for the
guards here are quite familiar with his reputation.

Ctenmir's Private Chambers
   Ctenmir has found that this is the only place he feels safe to rest.  His
small knowledge of magic has helped him create glyphs and sigils to warn him of
any guards that might be trying to get to him and to protect him from scrying
and magic spells.  Fine clothes and products are everywhere, from small jade
statues to ancient elven wines.  A soft bed rests against one wall along with a
small reading chair and lamp.  An oddly shaped dummy in the center of the room
provides a practice and instructional tool for the finer points of, er,
'acquiring' things and a series of different locks lines a long wooden board,
apparently another practice tool of some sort.

Ctenmir has acquired a reputation for being able to dissappear into thin air.
Exactly how he suddenly makes his small wirey frame seem to fade into the
shadows isn't clear, but he does seem to have an ability to keep out of trouble
even when trouble is trying to find him.  It isn't really known how many heists
Ctenmir has pulled off, but his dark calculating eyes and swift hands make it
quite likely that it is quite a few.  In fact, if he has really done even half
the robberies that are attributed to him then he is probably the most skilled
thief of all time.  How he has lived this long is as mysterious as his activities
outside the city.
Ctenmir appears to be Halfling and is in excellent condition.
He's small in size.

On a Long Stairway
   The roof of a jodani wood building can be seen sticking out of the cliff
directly below and a number of trees and small buildings can be made out on the
plateau far below.  Water roars past to the west as it plummets over the edge
of the cliff above.  Though the waterfall is thin, the volume of water
streaking down toward the pool below appears to be more than enough to drag a
small boat with it.  The stairway continues upward toward another small plateau
and downward toward a building built in the face of the cliff.

Fernwalk Lane
   It appears that in some distant past the top of a mountain was somehow
sheared off and 'dropped' into the rift valley forming two plateaus on which
the halflings have built their small town.  One plateau below, which rests
above the western end of the Rift Valley Jungle, and one here on the remains of
the mountain.  A number of very colorful and beautiful homes can be seen
through the small trees and bushes on this higher plateau.  Ferns line the road
as it heads north and a narrow stairway leads down toward the lower plateau.

Fernwalk Lane
   Halflings are inclined to use a wide variety of jungle woods to make their
beautiful little homes.  Although Woodseer is most famous for its jodani and
ebonwood, the Rift Valley Jungle is filled with a wide variety of trees
providing a number of different woods for building.  Dark brown cocobola has
been used in the construction of a small home to the east.  The thin light
brown veins of the cocobola seem to shimmer in the sunlight making the home
appear to be made of marble rather than wood.  Fernwalk Lane continues to
the north toward some more brightly colored homes and south to a steep drop.

The Intersection of Orchid Way and Fernwalk Lane
   The steady trickle of a tiny waterfall flowing into a small pool to the
west makes a pleasant counterpart to the birds playing in the trees and bushes
nearby.  A large number of small halfling cottages can be seen to the east and
north.  Most of the cottages are made of different woods or combinations of
different woods giving the collection of homes here a colorful, almost
artistic touch.  Halflings take pride in the creation and decoration of
beautiful intricate homes.  Orchid Way continues to the east and makes a short
trip to the west to a small pool of freshwater and Fernwalk Lane continues
both north and south.

shack to the south seems to hang over the edge of the cliff.  The shack
contrasts sharply with the beautiful well-made cottages that are seen

by its sides.

rivers, one of which flows to the south and over the cliff forming another
waterfall and the other heads north along the edge of the plateau.  Small
benches have been set here beside some beautiful flower beds so that people
can come and watch the waterfall, or the ducks playing in the pool to the
west.  Orchid Way heads east from here and the pool itself is to the west.

Orchid Way

upward toward the east along a number of halfling homes.  All of the orchids

   A small counter in front of the northern wall displays several different
foods and supplies that can be purchased.  The elderly halflings that run this
simple store seem to have everything anyone would need to cook their own meal,
as well as a few prepared dishes that can be taken home.  They have made a
point of keeping their small shop clean, and free of any chairs or tables,
they seem intent on NOT becoming a restaurant.

   Pleasant red and yellow orchids line the narrow road as it begins to slope
upward toward the east along a number of halfling homes.  All of the orchids
have been carefully planted and tended making the whole road look orderly and
peaceful.  Children can be heard playing nearby along with the barking of some
small dogs.  A small food vendors shop is to the north and a number of
beautiful wooden homes are to the east.

continues to the east and west.  An extremely large two-story building made of
jodani wood is to the north, a sign over the doorway bears the simple
statement, "Mathorn's."   Everyone in Woodseer knows that Mathorn is a bounty-
hunter, one of the best in the land.  No-one wants to discuss the business he
is in, or the number of employees he has.  The road continues to the east and
west.

twinkle from its hiding place between two large flowering trees.  The pinnacle
of a thin emerald tower can be seen above the tree tops to the north.  Orchid
Way continues to rise slightly to the east toward more halfling homes and
continues west.

Orchid Way Ends
   Orchid Way ends here it at a small circle surrounded by three halfling
cottages.  Bocote, with its dark brown veins on a light brown background, has
been used in the cottages to the north and south and cocobola, which has light
brown veins on dark brown, has been used on the eastern cottage.  The
combination of woods in the three cottages must have been planned to create a
setting so peaceful and orderly that it could be a painting.  Children can be
heard playing nearby and several small dogs lope slowly around waiting for
their master to take them for a walk.

A Rosewood Cottage
   Although the cottage is made of rosewood, all of the furniture within is
made of a rare wood known as chackte-kok which has beautiful red veins on a
pale brown background.  The chairs and beds have had beautiful designs carved
into them along the grain of the wood highlighting the red veins.  Orchids
send a sweet scent into the room with every breeze.   A narrow picture against
the northern wall depicts two halfling warriors battling a huge snake-like
creature with a human face, the halflings are depicted as having the upper
hand but it is hard to imagine the small warriors actually defeating such a
large creature.  An open doorway leads out to the south to Orchid Way.

north.  Most of the cottages are made of different woods or combinations of
different woods giving the collection of homes here a colorful, almost
artistic touch.  Halflings take pride in the creation and decoration of
beautiful intricate homes.  Orchid Way continues to the east and makes a short
trip to the west to a small pool of freshwater and Fernwalk Lane continues
both north and south.

Fernwalk Lane
   It appears that in some distant past the top of a mountain was somehow
sheared off and 'dropped' into the rift valley forming two plateaus on which
the halflings have built their small town.  One plateau below, which rests
above the western end of the Rift Valley Jungle, and one here on the remains of
the mountain.  A number of very colorful and beautiful homes can be seen
through the small trees and bushes on this higher plateau.  Ferns line the road
as it heads north and a narrow stairway leads down toward the lower plateau.

   Merchants can be heard hawking their wares in the small market to the north
and a dog's barking can be heard in the distance.  The ferns that give this
narrow road its name seem to fade out to the north where the road widens into
a large square.  A lumber shed to the west blocks the view of the small river
that flows along the western edge of the higher plateau and the door to a
small auction house can be seen to the east.  Fernwalk Lane continues both
north and south.

Vendurini's Auction House
   Though Vendurini hasn't been seen in many years, the auction house he set
up here still stands.  The wooden floors have been worn smooth by the passing
of many feet, but the place lacks any real decorations suggesting this simple
pine building is strictly a ultilarian auction house.  The auctioneers are
fair and the guards that watch the area insure honest transactions, but it is
well-known that this safety ends at the doorway.  A wooden table in the back
of the room is used to display the items up for bid and a small podium beside
it is used by the auctioneers to take bids.  Fernwalk Lane passes by the door
to the west.
