destroyed in favor of more chaotic and less stressful game-play. Zones/mobs are
generally lower level and less of a nuisance, to allow for some exploring. During
this time, characters may be setbit to classes/races that are unobtainable under
normal conditions.
Chaos is NOT for everyone, and is NOT indicative of the normal game-play during
the wipe, and should not be mistaken as such. Things tested during Chaos and new
code changes are meant for testing purposes only, and are not necessarily a prelude
to what code will be like in the brand new wipe.
Chaos is only initiated in the end-stage of a wipe, when development for
the new wipe takes precedence over the end-stage wipe. Chaos is meant to be a
period for us to drop in Alpha-stage code for testing purposes, so the game will
often be unstable and prone to crashes. The fact that we leave the game open
during our development stage of the next wipe is more so that we can take feedback
from current players, test, and allow players to keep social interactions alive
that might otherwise degenerate if we shut down completely until the new wipe.
We thank you for your continued patience during this phase for those of you who
do not enjoy it.
