The desert's indigenous life struggles to survive during the day, for water
is scarce and plants are nearly nonexistent, for all practical purposes this
desert is barren. During the night the temperatures drop sharply and many of
the nocturnal creatures come out to feed themselves. One of the many mysteries
of the desert is how so many nocturnal creatures manage to feed themselves
so well on plants and each other alike, not only do they manage to survive, but
they seem to thrive as well. The desert dune slopes in all directions, nothing
but sand can be seen. Very few people know the secrets of the desert, and very
few still could actually cross such a great dune as this.

Before a Sandy Beach
   This is the final slope of the winding dune. The breeze that comes with the
sea gently stirs the air, bringing with it the cooler air above the water.
The sea is a great source of food, fish is a valuable commodity in the desert
city, which is why there are so many fishermen and boats to go with it. The
docks within the city house whatever is caught, and the fishermen are paid
their weight in gold. The sea meets the ocean a few miles further to the east,
which brings to the city more trade and prosperity. The sultan, of course, takes
a percentage of all trade that takes place. A few pirates strike every so
often, since there aren't many ships of war nearbye. Footprints lead toward
some rocks toward the north. Very mysterious.

Before an Encampment
   The desert city needs food to survive. Those who cannot seek food within the
city often come here to fish for something to eat. They usually find plenty
of fish along with anything else that inhabits these waters. The sea is
plentiful with things to eat. The fisherman encampment to the east is
enveloped with a number of city dwellers that come here often enough to set up
a small tent of some sort. There are a great many fishing poles resting here
and there a long with a few accessories here and there. The docks is the
first place the great many merchants that visit the city see first, however,
the more reputable merchants dock at the larger docks within the city.

equipment can be heard. Shouts of surprise and alarm at catching something is
usually heard every so often. There are a great many fisherman within these

been so with haste and carelessness, they could easily blow down in a desert
